Lena
Lena has 2 children, a daughter
(Angie) and a son (Joe). Both Joe and Angie live in the
general area of the retirement home so they visit her twice a
week at which time she requests going to McDonalds for a
hamburger, french fries and a ice cream cone which she
loves.
She has 4 grandchildren and 9
great grandchildren with the latest addition of Anna Grace who
just made her debut in February. Her oldest great
grandchild is 19 years old and the others range in age down to
this new little blessing.
She is 95 years old and is in
reasonably good health for those 95 years. She has
been residing at the retirement home for about 6 years now
and receives very good care. Lena is very spirited. She recently
gave up something she didn't want any longer - diabetes. Who
would blame her? She uses a cane now, but that is just a fashion
accessory
When you are at her dining room during dinner,
you get confused at first. Everyone else has their dinner and
their dessert, except Lena. It seems that Lena has a sweet tooth
and will ALWAYS eat her dessert first, thus - the dessert isn't
brought out until later.
But isn't that an old saying, "Life is
short, eat dessert first!"
